What is the DiSC® Classic Paper?

The DiSC® Classic Paper, also known as DiSC® Classic or DiSC® Survey, is a Wiley Authorized assessment used to help explore different aspects of one's personality and behavior. The DiSC® Classic Paper is based on work of Harvard-educated and world-renowned psychologist William Marston and an assessment created by John Geier and is often used when participants may have limited access to a computer.

As one of the most affordable behavioral and personality tests on the market, the DiSC® Classic Paper has been used for over thirty years by more than thirty five million people!

What does the DiSC® Classic Paper Cover?

The DiSC® Classic Paper will give participants an inside look at their unique behavioral styles based on how they answer the questions in the assessment. This includes learning strategies for being more effective in the workplace, environments in which the participant may thrive, and finding out personal strengths and weaknesses.

The term DiSC® is an acronym with each letter symbolizing a behavioral trait that the participant will be scored on.

These include:

Dominance: Reflective of an assertive and decisive personality

Influence: Reflective of an outgoing and social personality

Steadiness: Reflective of a calm, routine-based personality

Conscientiousness: Reflective of an analytical and systematic personality

Once scored, the DiSC® Classic Paper assessment will reveal actionable behavioral information to the participant which can be used to strengthen their self awareness and gain a better understanding of other work styles.

For example, a person who scores high in Influence as their dominant trait may discover a strength in persuasion and a need to control the environment in which they work. The assessment also reveals potential weaknesses which once acknowledged, could be addressed.
